The song is an epic eight-minute track, whose video was released through Rollingstone and has been drawing in a lot of good views and remarks. While Anthrax is kicking off their South American tour with Iron Maiden, the album and the single have been breaking the charts. The band’s album is a top chart on places like Amazon’s Best Sellers Metal Chart, iTune’s Metal Chart, and the top best-selling album at Best Buy, just this week. The album was released on Friday February 26 last month.
The music video, though nightmarish and even a bit grotesque, it had some surprising cameos. The aspect of the video itself is about a skull-faced king presiding over a draconian society built on torture, torment and murder. James Duval was in music video, who is famous for his role in the film, Donnie Darko. The song’s meaning is about succumbing to your darkest indulgence, be it carnage and bloodshed or BDSM.
“We created this torture chamber, sitting below this horrible king’s hall,” says director Jack Bennett to Rollingstone, “This guy gets to play with his toys and look through the grate in the floor and see this group of people that he’s essentially crushing. The idea is that this power is built on top of these people. It’s brutal and there’s a lot of amazing torture gags happening, but it all serves this concept that progress is brutal. Civilizations progress in a way that is violent.”
