Panorama Announce 2016 Lineup Featuring Arcade Fire, Kendrick Lamar And LCD Soundsystem

A brand-new festival is in town: Panorama is hitting the stage in New York City this summer for the first time ever. Set in Randall’s Island Park, Panorama will be the second festival in the area this summer. News about the potential festival first started appearing last September, but the date and location have been moved around due to permit issues. Now, Panorama will take place July 22nd-24th with tons of big names participating. Not only will Arcade Fire, Kendrick Lamar, and LCD Soundsystem be headlining, but Alabama Shakes and The National will also make an appearance. One thing’s for sure: this brand-new festival will not disappoint.

Kendrick Lamar was among the artists who led the Grammy nominations for this year, walking away with five Grammys, including Best Rap Album for To Pimp Butterfly, his third studio album. It was also nominated for Album of the Year, and certified platinum by the RIAA. The album explores several themes including discrimination and inequality, mixing genres of funk, jazz, and spoken word. Lamar also recently collaborated with Kanye West on his new album.

Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire released their fourth studio album Reflektor back in 2013, a double album that was recorded in three different studios and was influenced by Haitian rara music. The band then made a documentary film called The Reflektor Tapes that was released in 2015 and explored the making of the album. Just a few weeks ago, the band released a video of them playing “Here Comes The Night” live in Haiti, a single from Reflektor.

LCD Soundsystem have reported that they will be releasing a new studio album this year. On February 13th, it was also reported that the American rock band had signed with Columbia Records. Their last album, This Is Happening, was released in 2010, and it was the band’s third studio album.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 4th at 12pm EST and can be purchased here.
