It’s official: Chvrches and Death Cab For Cutie will be touring together this summer, starting in Miami in just a few days and rounding off the tour in July at the Sloss Music + Arts Festival. Both bands are each currently on their own tour to promote their latest albums and will join together soon to embark on a summer tour together. The tour will also feature other bands such as Paramore, Twilight Sad, and Metric.
Chvrches is a Scottish electronic band that was formed in 2011. They released Recover EP in March 2013, then their first studio album The Bones of What You Believe later that September. Last year, the band released their second studio album Every Open Eye, to great critical acclaim. Just a few days ago, the band released a new video for their song “Clearest Blue”, their latest single from Every Open Eye.
Death Cab For Cutie has been making American alternative rock music since 1997, with eight studio albums to show for it. Their latest one, Kintsugi, was released in March 2015 and was the first of the band’s albums to feature an outside producer. While the album was being produced, lead guitarist and founder Chris Walla announced that he was leaving the band, but helped finish the album first. The album was nominated for Best Rock Album at the Grammys.
