2015 marked a year of fundamental change for Crystal Castles. Following a contentious and public breakup, singer Alice Glass made the decision to part ways with the band. “My art and my self-expression in any form has always been an attempt towards sincerity, honesty, and empathy for others. For multitude of reasons both professional and personal I no longer feel that this is possible within Crystal Castles,” she says on her Facebook account.
Crystal Castles, however, are far from dead; the group is reemerging with new lead singer Edith Francis. Although the band went through a turbulent shakeup, singles “Deicide” and “Frail” maintained the same glitchy, synth-driven sound that came to propel the original lineup to prominence in 2008. The songs are building up to the release of the band’s new, unnamed record, set to become available this spring.
Following the release of their new music, the band is hitting the road for a spring tour. The shows will begin in New Orleans as the band treks their way across the U.S., before traveling to Europe throughout the summer. See the complete itinerary below for all dates and locations.
