The famous Ottawa Bluesfest has just announced this year’s lineup. The summer festival is going to feature well-known and loved artists including Red Hot Chili Peppers, Wolf Parade and Brad Paisley.
This year’s Ottawa Bluesfest will take place between July 7th and 10th, 2016. The festival will be held in LeBreton Flats in the heart of downtown Ottawa. Though the festival focuses on blues music, musicians of various genres will also take part in the event, from indie folk favorites, the Lumineers, to famous hip-hop/rap artist, Future.
In addition, notable performers include Duran Duran, Schoolboy Q, City and Colour, the Monkees, Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals, Earl Sweatshirt and Awolnation. The event will also feature delicious multicultural food, merch and posters for sale, and contests, among several other activities.
The Ottawa Bluesfest had its first event in 1994 at Majors Hill Park, drawing relatively small crowds. Originally, the festival was intended to focus solely on blues music, but since then has added musicians of just about every genre. The festival was also recently renamed the RBC Royal Bank Bluesfest.
It is hosted every July in downtown Ottawa and never fails to provide its attendees with an enjoyable experience. It was ranked the most successful outdoor music festivals by Billboard Magazine. In addition, Consequence of Sound lists the festival is the largest in Canada and second largest in North America.
Tickets for the festival are CA$49.50 for a single day pass, and CA$229.00 for a full festival pass. VIP options are also available for both single day and multi-day passes. For more information and the link to buy tickets, click here.
