The English singer and songwriter announced the unleashing of new EP from her new label, both projects entitled Vroom Vroom. The British pop sensation, born Charlotte Emma Aitchison, revealed that she partnered with London-based electronic producer SOPHIE on the upcoming release:
Vroom Vroom Recordings is my new, experimental pop label, and it will combine my love for bubblegum pop with mystery and darkness. The artists coming up through it will be sharp, potent, and deadly.
Vroom Vroom Recordings will focus on “experimental and futuristic pop”. The label signed two acts and announced upcoming singles from the electronic band RIVRS and alternative rock/indie/folk artist CuckooLander. To mark the launch of Vroom Vroom, Charli will begin hosting a Beats 1 show scheduled to air every two weeks. Vroom Vroom Recordings will focus on “experimental and futuristic pop”. Additionally, Charli dropped an anthemic new track, “Trophy”, alongside the recently premiered “Vroom Vroom”. Both songs are fused with the aggressive brightness of SOPHIE’s style and will appear on the anticipated EP, a prelude to her third album. After promising that her new music is “really really good” and “my favorite music I’ve ever made” on Facebook, Charli explained:
I’ve worked with SOPHIE on the new EP and what we create together speaks for itself. Sometimes we get aggressive, sometimes we get beautiful; he pushes me and I push him. I’m making beautiful party songs right now and this is just the start. The album goes to other places and I can’t wait for people to hear it. I feel the most creative I have in a long time and I couldn’t be more excited for the next chapter.
In 2014, Charli XCX broke into stardom with the smashing hit single “Gold Coins”, preceded by “London Queen” and “Breaking Up”. All three tracks appeared on her empowering second album, “Sucker“. Charli recently performed “Boom Boom Clap” with Taylor Swift.
