It’s going to be a bitter-sweet night at The Marlin Room at Webster Hall on May 8. Veteran Boston hardcore band, Bane, will be playing their last New York City show ever as part of their world-wide farewell tour that began last year.
Bane has been going strong for over twenty years and has become one of the most well respected bands that hardcore has to offer. In 2014 the band released Don’t Wait Up, their fourth and final album that followed a United States tour. Since the release of the record, Bane has been consistently on tour to say goodbye and thank you to fans – a common theme in most of their songs.
Unlike most tours that have a solid line-up of other acts, Bane has been playing with a variety of different bands throughout the tour. The final show in NYC will also feature performances from Backtrack, Maximum Penalty, Expire and Manipulate. The band is considered fundamental keystone in the hardcore community and the tour is not just a goodbye to fans, but also a goodbye to the other bands as well. Check out Calling Hours, a song from their final album which features members of Rotting Out, Down to Nothing, Code Orange and Have Heart.
It’s only plausible that a Boston hardcore band will play their final show in Boston but you shouldn’t miss your chance for one last night in NYC with Bane at The Marlin Room at Webster Hall on May 8.
