Girlpool @ Rickshaw Stop 4/19

Who knew a mix of folk and punk music could be so glorious? Meet Girlpool, a new Los Angeles-based duo consisting of Cleo Tucker on guitar and vocals and Harmony Tividad on bass and vocals. The band released their first self-titled EP Girlpool in November of 2014 and their first studio album released in June 2015 called Before the World Was Big. Girlpool signed to the famous London based record label, Wichita Recordings. The current roster includes FIDLAR, Cloud Nothings, Gold Panda, and many more. Past greats who have been on Wichita include Best Coast, the Bloc Party, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Are Girlpool the next Best Coast? Probably.

It’s always fun to say you got into a band before the mainstream audience did. Seeing Girlpool live will give you the bragging rights that you knew them before they were cool. Tickets have been on sale for just a few days and are selling fast. The venue’s capacity is only 350 so this show will sell out before you could say Girlpool. These babes are also playing Coachella, so if you can’t make it to the festival, there’s always a Bay Area Coachella sideshow you can attend. Listen below to their single Chinatown and get tickets ASAP!
