Philly’s Santigold is headed back home for a headlining show at the TLA this spring. It’s part of her “We Buy Gold” tour, in support of her newest release, 99 Cents.
The Philly native was of course in town for this past year’s Made in America Festival (her second performance at the fest). With very little from her discography since 2012’s Master of Make-Believe, her appearance on the Jay Z-curated lineup was somewhat of a surprise. In June of that year, she had contributed the track “Radio,” to the soundtrack for the film Paper Towns, but that was about it as far as new music. But fans of the singer were met with one of the best performances of the weekend, with Santigold proving exactly why she belonged on that stage.
And now, she has a whole album’s worth of new material for us to enjoy, with the upcoming release of 99 Cents, which is slated to drop in just a few short days. So far, she has released three singles from the LP, “Can’t Get Enough” (featuring BC), “Who Be Lovin Me” (featuring ILoveMakonnen), and “Chasing Shadows.” It will be exciting to see exactly what she has in store with the rest of the album. Grab that on February 26th, and grab your tickets now to catch Santigold on May 1st when she brings her dynamic stage show to the TLA.
