The band Bleached has released the newest video for their single “Wednesday Night Melody.” The song is from their newest album that comes out in April of next year, Welcome The Worms.
The video starts out with the band members finding their lead singer dead in the bedroom. In the beginning portion of the music video, Bleached was scheduled for a gig later in the day when the group stumbles across their singer’s dead body. The band can’t cancel at this point so close to the show, so they decided that the show must go on and devise a plan to work around the death of their singer. The single reflects on the inspirations behind the second album by Bleach, where siblings and band members Jessie and Jennifer used their memories about siting unhealthy romantic endeavors, eviction, and moments of their futile drunken nights. It’s a wacky video to a wacky single. Something that singer Jennifer was excited to see cone to life in a video that looks completely unscripted. The video is everything about the innocence of youth, the life you live seems almost invisible until the crashing reality of being broke and consumed by angst often haunts you at the nearest corner of your mind.
“The lyrics started off as a letter to myself and range from depicting the indulgence of vices to escape, sad reflection of the past, and into the acceptance of those feelings as a part of life and feeling hopeful for the future,” said Jennifer, “So the fact that I play dead during this whole video was such an abstract take on it that it felt perfect.”
Bleached will be performing at SXSW this year and have announced a list of tour dates for their upcoming album.
