Back in 2010, Melody Prochet, a French singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist became fascinated with the psychedelic sounds of a Tame Impala show in Paris. Prochet decided to leave her band My Bee’s Garden and pursue a solo career with the help of the Kevin Parker, the genius behind the band that started her intrigue. Parker transformed Prochet into Melody’s Echo Chamber. She recalls, “I tend to write songs with pretty chords and arpeggios, and I was kind of boring myself. So I asked Kevin to destroy everything.” Receiving praise from NME, Pitchfork, and Metacritic for her debut, self-titled album, Prochet’s musical profession took off.
Receiving praise from NME, Pitchfork, and Metacritic for her debut, self-titled album, Prochet’s musical profession took off. With her sophomore album on the way, Prochet has big shoes to fill considering her debut album was so well done. Melody’s Echo Chamber’s album is expected to release in the summer. She toured high-profile festivals such as Glastonbury, Primavera Sound, and now will fill a Coachella slot in April. Her San Francisco show will take place between weekend one and two of Coachella.
