This summer, Bloc Party will head out on a North American tour that will make its way here to Philly come June. The group will kick things off down south in the middle of May, and head to Philly for a show at The Fillmore on June 1st. They’ll be bringing along special guests The Vaccines (May 15 – May 23) and MS MR (May 25 – June 2). Per the band’s Facebook page, we can also expect to see London singer Oscar at the Philly date.
Bloc Party just released their fifth album, Hymns, at the end of last month. In addition to their European tour (currently in full swing), the band will also be playing a handful of festivals this year, including SXSW and GovBall. The band has undergone a few lineup changes over their long history, with Justin Harris (bass) and Louise Bartle (drums) joining the band to replace Gordon Moakes and Matt Tong.
Though they officially got their start in 1999, their debut album didn’t come until 2005. Silent Alarm was named NME Album of the Year. Joining them for their June 1st show at The Fillmore are special guests MS MR. The pair are fresh off of their recent tour in support of 2015’s How Does It Feel. Make sure you head to The Fillmore early to catch their set!
