If you ever find yourself caught in the Wild West wearing leather made from a horse you shot out of necessity (basically, if you become Leonardo DiCaprio in “The Revenant”), we have the perfect song for you to play while chasing bandits off into the sunset. The musicians of Bosnian Rainbows which — no surprise — hail from El Paso, Texas, have released a cover of Depeche Mode’s “I Feel You.”
Now obviously, Depeche Mode is not the first group to come to mind if scoring a Clint Eastwood film. “I Feel You,” however, comes under a total makeover under the innovative musical guise of Omar Rodríguez-Lopez and Teri Gender Bender, also featuring With Lions.
The art rockers have repeatedly collaborated talents throughout their musical history. Aside from Bosnian Rainbows, Rodríguez-Lopez produced three albums for Gender Bender’s band, Le Bucherettes. Starting in March, the two will be touring together around North America, the UK and Europe — Gender Bender with Le Bucherettes and Rodríguez-Lopez with his band, At the Drive In. As the Bosnian Rainbows, the two have not released anything since 2013 with their one and only album, Bosnian Rainbows. So hopefully, “I Feel You” is just the opening credits song for what will become a full-length, El Paso-inspired feature film.
