Mark Lanagan announced today that he plans to take an extensive UK tour to play in intimate spaces all over the area. Perhaps it is for inspiration in writing this new album one might ask?
Mark has been hard at work to create new music since his most recent album, Phantom Radio. You can hear some of his most recent songs here and here. Mark has not cut himself off from the opportunity of other musical opportunities. He’s also been working on some music with a “supergroup” called the Ten Commandos featuring drummer Matt Cameron of Pearl Jam, guitarist Alain Johannes of Queens of the Stone Age, bassist Ben Shepherd of Soundgarden, and Dimitri Coats of OFF! Click here to listen to their song Staring Down the Dust.
Mark also recently released a vinyl collection on November 20th containing his first five solo albums called One Way Street via Sub Pop records. This was especially unique because three of the titles have been out of print for years, one was released in the vinyl format in Europe only and another was only ever released on CD before this. Four of the five records included in the compilation are from the 1990s, while the fifth was originally released in 2001.
The tour will proceed through Europe alongside Marks close friend, and fellow musician Duke Garwood says louderthanwar. The tour will begin in Manchester in April and End in London in May.
