The nominees for the 45th annual Juno Awards were announced Tuesday, and by force of nature, the nominated artists include Drake, the Weeknd, Adele, Justin Bieber, BADBADNOTGOOD, Alessia Cara and other names that have become as familiar as our own. However, there’s definitely a diversity in nominees with lesser-known artists such as Kafinal for Reggae Recording Artist of the Year and Old Man Leudecke for Traditional Roots Album of the Year.

Coincidentally all Canadian, The Weeknd, Drake and Justin Bieber were each nominated for multiple awards, with Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late against Bieber’s Purpose for the best album competition to determine who is the true Canadian Sweetheart. The best single competition nominees include Bieber’s “What Do You Mean?” The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face,” Ria Mae’s “Clothes Off,” Alessia Cara’s “Here,” and Drake’s “Hotline Bling.” Hosted by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the nominated awards are as expansive as Adult Contemporary Album of the Year to Francophone Album of the Year, totaling up to eight pages of nominees. The awards ceremony will take place in eight weeks on April 3 at The Scotiabank Saddledome and will be broadcast on CTV. The Weeknd, Alessia Cara, Bryan Adams, Dean Brody and Shawn Mendes will be performing live.
