Jon Bunch Of Further Seems Forever And Sensefield Passes Away

It is a sad day in the alternative rock world where earlier today frontman for post-hardcore band Sense Field and rock band Further Seems Forever Jon Bunch passed away. Reported by Loudwire.com, the 46 year-old California vocalist was found dead, The details surrounding Bunch’s passing have not been revealed, but his death has been confirmed by Rise Records president Craig Ericson, who posted about Bunch’s passing on Instagram, and tweets from Spartan Records, Tooth and Nail Records and Revelation Records, all of whom Bunch worked with over the years.

Born in Harbor City California in 1970, Bunch came up in the Los Angeles hardcore punk rock scene in LA’s South Bay. Founding the band Reasons to Believe in 1986, setting the stage for the birth of his career, was later evolved into the 1990 emo/post-hardcore band Sense field which pioneered that genre of music. The band released 5 albums between 1994 and 2003, creating a popular hit in 2002 called “Save Yourself” working with Revelation, Warner Bros. and Nettwerk Records, before parting ways in ’04 and furthering Bunch’s career with a new project. During the same year that Sense Field broke up Jon Bunch managed to situate himself vocalizing for his new band Further Seems Forver where he stayed with until 2006, but still toured Europe with bandmate Derick Cordoba under the name Fields Foever (combining both band name) and performing acoustic versions to tracks of Sense Field and Further Seems Forever.

In 2012 Bunch reunited with band members from Sense Field for two select shows honoring Revelation Record’s 25 year anniversary in Pomona, California.  Later on in 2013 Bunch was fronting another band called War Generations which was signed by Rise Records and featured Brad Lehnmann from Maylene & the Sons of Disaster, releasing their album Start Somewhere, Never Surrender in late 2013, the band chose to support the album release with a U.S.tour that was accompanied by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus in the fall of that year.

Most recently, Bunch had launched a new band called Lucky Scars and was signed to Spartan Records, he went under the moniker Johnny Scars and released the band’s first debut EP Rock and Roll Party Foul last fall. Many people who were close with Jon tweeted their sadness to the world and honored him with plenty of good wishes and morose remarks on the punk artist’s death. He was a sensational individual that will be missed in the world of music. R.I.P Jon Bunch.
