The Secret Solstice Festival will take place in the city of Reykjavík, Iceland for the third time in a row. The show starts the 17 of June and ends the 19 of June. This three day festival will include musicians such as Radiohead, Action Bronson, Deftones, Goldie, Of Monsters And Men, Skream, and Visionquest along with many more musicians you can check out in the lineup at the bottom of the page.
The Secret Solstice is based on the Norse religion and mythology of the beginning of the summer solstice. The summer solstice is the longest day of the year in Iceland. Generally, the summer solstice is when Earth tilts towards the Sun. The days become longer and the nights become shorter, but for those who live on the northern portions of Earth experience more sun than they should. UPDATE: (3/4/2016):
Art Department, Die Antwoord, General Levy, Slow Magic, St. German, and Stacey Pullen have been added to the lineup for the Secret Solstice festival. Those six bands will be performing in Iceland June 17 to June 19.
UPDATE: (06/14/2016): Chino Moreno from the Deftones will officially be playing inside of Iceland’s Thrihnuagigur Volcano as a part of Secret Solstice presents Inside The Volcano event on June 18th, as part of the festival. This will be the confirmed first time an artist has performed inside of a volcano.
