Kanye West Changes Album Title, Reveals Track List And Gets In Twitter War With Wiz Khalifa

Kanye West is never one to back down from fight, and everyone knows that Kanye’s biggest fan (apart from his wife Kim) is himself. So it comes as no shock that the rap artist decided to get into a Twitter battle with known fellow rapper Wiz Khalifa after changing his most recent album name. This began after a quick tease of the tracklist for West’s new album “Waves”, where according to Billboard.com,  Khalifa had fired off a  series of tweets claiming the long time rap artist had taken the name from imprisoned rapper Max B, causing all hell to break loose and setting off a reaction from West that made him make matters a little more personal than needed.

Khalifa shot off his first tweets claiming “Max B is the wavy one,” tweets Wiz. “He created the wave. There is no wave without him.”. Wiz is referring to rapper Max B’s lyrical choice with being wavy and the style to which he sings on his tracks. “He’s the reason I sing on all my songs.” continues Khalifa “That’s the wave. If theres nothing wit that sound ITS NOT WAVY “. Firing shots at  Kanye claiming that only one artist holds that style and it is disrespectful to use it as the new album name.

Kanye’s initial response was calm and reasonable claiming he has all the respect for Max B, which was promptly responded to by Khalifa where he caused a miscommunication between the two “Hit this kk and become yourself.”, setting Kanye off on a rant of epic proportions. After unveiling his third tracklist, West addressed Wiz’s comments on his own timeline, although West seems to misunderstand Wiz’s use of the initials “KK.” KK refers to “Khalifa Kush,” his strand of weed, but Kanye thought Wiz was referring to his wife, Kim Kardashian. Kanye sent our 4 tweets to respond to Wiz’s KK comment; “Oh niggas must think I’m not petty cause I’m the best that’s ever made music” “Like, oh that’s Ye and I can put his wife’s initials on my twitter @Wizkhalifa” “Bro first of all you stole your whole shit from Cudi” “Second, your first single was corny as fuck and most there after” and after several back and forths the squabble continued with Kanye plugging in a Kimoji (his wife Kim Kardashian’s emoji pack) and a comment about Wiz’s pants. After that Ye decided it was time to get personal, referencing Wiz Khalifa’s ex-wife Amber Rose (to those not in the know, that is West’s ex as well) and going after his son Sebastian. “4th you let a stripper trap you” followed by “5th I know you mad every time you look at your child that this girl got you for 18 years” continuing on and on without any remorse. After 15 or so more tweets, West wrapped up the battle with his final plug “Thank you for the extra promotion #WAVES available February 11th” showing that for the rapper it does not matter what kind of publicity he gets, it’s always good publicity. Teaching us that no matter how petty the battle, Ye is never above defending his own. Last seen on twitter, Kanye has posted several tweets that show his regret for the situation, perhaps Khalifa will follow suit. Hopefully this verbal shootout will remain online and both artists will sweep the incident under that rug.

UPDATE (01/28/2016):

After the back and fourth twitter battle that occurred between the two rap artists it remained relatively quite on Wiz Khalifa’s end, until last night during a performance in Argentina. According to Spin.com, during his performance in South America the rapper, who actually gained more than 61,000 Twitter followers in the hour following the fight rather than losing 2 million as ‘Ye claimed, took to the mic and screamed “F*ck Kanye” showing that he does not just sit and take verbal abuse, no matter what source. Kanye will most likely not take this shout out silently and will probably respond as he is never one to back down from a fight, lets just hope it remains in the verbal and social media realm.

UPDATE (02/03/2016):

According to news source Fader.com, Wiz Khalifa and Kanye West have settled the beef between them after their Twitter war miscommunication. The first attempts towards reconciliation appeared to take place yesterday, when Kim Kardashian and Amber met up and announced their truce by sharing a selfie together. Today Kanye suggested that he took similar steps to reach peace with Wiz. “Me and Wiz spoke yesterday,” he wrote on Twitter. “Great convo. All positive.” claiming to have made peace with the artist. Here is to hoping the beef stays squashed and the artists move on with their lives.
