Indie pop duo Chairlift have announced the first set of dates for their upcoming Spring 2016 headlining tour. The band is touring in support of their new album, Moth, which was released on Jan. 22 via Columbia Records.
Moth is Chairlift’s first new album since 2012’s Something, and their third album to date.
The new album manages to strike an excellent balance between softer ethereal sounds and danceable pop hooks. Chairlift is clearly comfortable in their skin and the new album reflects their ability to execute a singular vision. The band, consisting of Caroline Polachek and Patrick Wimberly, know exactly what kind of music they want to make, and they make it well.
Chairlift has also released a video for “Romeo,” one of the album’s singles.
The duo will be performing two special concerts on opposite sides of the country in support of the new release. They appeared in Los Angeles’s Teragram Ballroom on Jan. 23 and will be performing in New York City’s National Sawdust on Jan. 26.
Tickets for the tour will go on sale on Jan. 29.
