Eagles of Death Metal’s Play It Forward Campaign Still Going Strong In The Aftermath Of The Paris Attacks

The Eagles of Death Metal concert in Paris on November 13 ended in a way none of the band members could prepare for: a terrorist attack that took the lives of 130 people, 89 of which were in the Batlacan theatre. Rather than hiding in the background or quitting music altogether, the band has been busy the aftermath of the traumatic event, finding a way to give back to the victims of terrorism through their Play It Forward campaign.

EODM has called upon musical friends of every genre to cover their song, “I Love You All the Time.” They have pledged to donate all of the proceeds to The Sweet Stuff Foundation, an organization that helps struggling career musicians with illness or disability, with special donation fund going the victims of the Paris attacks. EODM wrote on the pledge website, “They attacked us all, please hear the call.”

The respondents to EODM’s call to action were quick, prolific and diverse. My Morning Jacket, Kings of Leon, Jimmy Eat World, Imagine Dragons and Florence + The Machine (feat. The Maccabees) all posted covers. The latest renditions of “I Love You All the Time” include covers by [Brackets], Buffalo Brothers, Chelsea Wolfe, Halestorm, Ian Clement, Keith Kenny and so on — there’s a rough total of 30 bands that have pitched in to the cause. The covers are available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and the Play It Forward Store.

In conjunction with their Play It Forward Campaign, EODM will continue on their winter and summer 2016 tour beginning in Sweden on Feb. 13.
