Radiohead Announces First Live Shows Since 2012 And Will Play New Album In Full At Primavera Sound

Radiohead has announced their first live shows since 2012, headlining several major festivals around the globe including Spain’s Primavera Sound, Chicago’s Lollapalooza, Portugal’s Nos Alive, San Francisco’s Outside Lands, Montreal’s Osheaga Music Festival, and Switzerland’s OpenAir St. Gallen and NOS Alive.

Lollapalooza will be celebrating its 25th anniversary this year in 2016. Sources say, the festival is taking place for the first time over four days, July 28th – 31st at Chicago’s Grant Park. This is not Radiohead‘s first appearance; the band performed at the festival in 2008 in support of the release of In Rainbows. 

Radiohead are also returning to Outside Lands after headlining the festival back in 2008. San Francisco’s festival occurs August 5th – 7th at Golden Gate Park.

As for Osheaga, it will mark Radiohead’s debut performance at the festival.

Sources say, Radiohead will perform their new album during their headline set at Primavera Sound. Primavera Sound will take place at the Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona, Spain June 1st – 5th. In a Primavera press release, mentioned quietly in just one sentence, fans learn of “The presentation of the new album by the British band Radiohead.”

In January, fans believed a new album was soon to be on the way. Sources say, the band had registered a new company called Dawn Chorus LLP. This information in the past has become the major key fact that hints towards a new album release. In other words, the registration of Dawn Chorus LLP was critical because Radiohead also established companies before the releases of both In Rainbows and The King of Limbs. A release date for the upcoming ninth studio album is unconfirmed.
