Josh Homme And Iggy Pop Announce New Album Post Pop Depression For March 2016 Release

Iggy Pop and Josh Homme have announced a collaborative album titled Post Pop Depression that they are working on.

The ageless and legendary punk rocker, Iggy Pop, has joined forces with long-time fan and rock power house Josh Homme to bring us new collaborative album titled Post Pop Depression, Pitchfork reports. The album is due out March 18 as Pop and Homme will appear on the “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” for their own debut performance, according to the Queens of The Stone Age’s Instagram. Josh Homme, most famous for his work with Queens of the Stone Age and with Eagles of Death Metal, has claimed that this project was supposed to take him and Iggy to a place where neither of them had gone before in his tweet. The Tweet can be seen below.

Showing an obvious sign of excitement for the new project but also as a therapeutic escape. Having just barely the fateful show with the Eagles of Death Metal during the Paris Attacks, Homme has said that working on the new album with Iggy “saved” him from the night’s trauma.

Other notable contributors on the album are Queens of the Stone Age’s Dean Fertita on guitar and keyboards and also Arctic Monkey’s drummer Matt Helders. The album is rumored to be taken on the road by Pop and Homme with the accompaniment of Fertita and Helders, along with Troy Van Leeuwen on guitar and Chavez’s Matt Sweeney on bass.

Ryan Fricke: Music is my therapy, which I could not function without. I am currently finishing my senior year a Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida with a Journalism major and a Creative Writing Minor. I first realized I wanted to become a Music Journalist the minute I learned that I could get paid to do the two things I love most, writing and listening to music. I have yet to decide which I am more infatuated with but for the time being I will happily house them to their stalemate. My plans after graduation are unclear but I hope to further gain experience in this profession.
