Following M83’s breakthrough album Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming they’re back with another full-length album coming out later this year. This will be their lucky number seven release from the French-American band. M83 only recently became a mainstream artist through their 2011 hit single Midnight City. The single was rightfully given a platinum award from the RIAA by selling over one million units of the song. Lead singer Anthony Gonzalez states the upcoming album is “more fun and fresh.” Not sure how an album could be more fun and fresh than Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming, but I’ll take your word for it, Anthony.
So, yes, M83 is a huge deal. And that probably explains why they sold out the Fox Theater with a capacity of about 3,000 in just a few days. Sure, tickets are sold out, but that doesn’t mean you have to miss them. Ask a friend to see if they have tickets, check eBay, StubHub, hell, even Craigslist. I’ve seen M83 twice in my life and honestly, I felt so much adrenaline during the show I still want more years after the shows. M83 puts on an unforgettable and magical performance. I’m not the biggest fan of M83’s music, and even though I didn’t know all the songs they played I still had a blast.
Please, I beg you. Find a way to see M83 live. It’ll be an experience you won’t forget. Get ready for neon lights, lots of sweating, and good vibes all around.
