Grunge demigods, Pearl Jam recently teased fans with plans to tour North America this coming Spring and Summer. Breaking their two-year sabbatical of playing the states (excluding last September’s Global Citizen Festival stint in Central Park), the band seeks to launch the first-leg of their tour in Fort Lauderdale, FL on April 8th.
Stoked to take their seasoned yet invigorated dog-and-pony act out on the road, the Seattle-stunners aim-high to hit only the most notable in key-point venue-slots. Hosting unprecedented 2-night-affairs at: Philly’s Wells Fargo Center, New York’s Madison Square Garden, Boston’s Fenway Park, and even Chicago’s Wrigley Field, the real-fireworks will set fire when the alt-rockers take the stage in Manchester, TN this coming June to headline the festival that defines all festivals of this era: Bonnaroo.
Still yet to alert the promise of new music on the horizon, Pearl Jam’s last full-length LP came in the form of 2013’s Lightning Bolt. Thriving from the inertia of last year’s successful trek through Mexico and South America, in which the Seattle-grungers tried their hand at delivering live-cover-versions of classics such as: U2’s “A Sort of Homecoming,” Eagles of Death Metal’s “I Want You So Hard (Boy’s Bad News),” and Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb,” Pearl Jam have since released a rare live-single of their Eagles of Death Metal cover performance. Proceeds from the limited-edition single will be made to benefit the victims of the attacks in Paris.
