In less than a month, the BBC Radio 6 Festival will be taking place in Bristol this year during February 12-14. An extensive list of acts are expected to perform, including Laura Marling, Suede, and Underworld. Several different venues in Bristol will be used for the festival: Motion, the Colston Hall, O2 Academy, and Trinity.

British folk singer-songwriter Laura Marling has been doing pretty well in the music world, with five studio albums under her belt, including her most recent one Short Movie (check out a great review of this album here). Marling and her three-piece band have been on tour performing unreleased music in various cities in North America. This particular tour has been more intimate, with smaller venues and smaller audiences.

Creating alternative rock music since 1989, British band Suede will also be participating in the BBC Radio 6 Festival. Though the band split up in 2003 shortly after the release of their badly-received fifth album A New Morning, they reunited seven years later in 2010 and continued creating music together. Three years after their reunion, the band finally released their next album Bloodsports, which was well-received by critics and earned the band back their reputation as one of the top British rock bands around. Last September, Suede announced that they would be releasing their next album, Night Thoughts, on January 22nd of this year, just 3 days from now.

Underworld, a British electronic band, is responsible for several incredible scores and soundtracks for television, movies, and even the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Last June, they headlined the Hollywood Bowl and performed an incredible set (read more about it here), which was no surprise as the band is known for their visual and dynamic performances. In November of last year, the band announced that they would be releasing their first studio album in six years Barbara Barbara, we face shining future on March 18th, 2016. They also announced that they would be going on a brief European tour to promote their new album. The band also reissued some of their albums, including Dubnobasswithmyheadman. There’s a great review of the super deluxe reissue edition here.
