New Orleans Jazz Festival Announces 2016 Lineup Featuring Beck, Pearl Jam And Neil Young

The annual New Orleans Jazz Festival is approaching, and this year’s lineup is killer. Beck, Pearl Jam, and Neil Young are some of the big headliners, though tons of other stellar artists will be performing at the festival too. The jazz festival is a huge event, taking place from April 22nd to May 1st. This length of time allows for an extensive amount of talented artists to perform.

Beck had a great year in 2015. At the 57th Annual Grammy Awards, his latest album Morning Phase won Album of the Year. It also won Best Rock Album and Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical). In June, Beck released the single “Dreams” from his upcoming thirteenth studio album, which does not have release date yet. Meanwhile, in July Beck performed a secret show in London and covered songs by the legends Prince and the Rolling Stones. He also was one of the numerous musical guests on Taylor Swift’s 1989 tour, performing his song “Dreams” with the pop artist. If that wasn’t enough, Beck also performed the song “I’ve Just Seen A Face” with legend Paul McCartney at the PETA benefit in October.

Legendary American rock band Pearl Jam will also be in attendance at the festival in April. Their last album, Lightning Bolt, was the band’s tenth studio album and was released in 2013. It became the band’s fifth album to reach number one on the Billboard 200. It then won a Grammy for Best Recording Package. In November of this past year, the band went on tour in Latin America and played nine shows. The band also performed beautiful rendition of the song “Love Boat Captain” to honor the victims of Paris after the Paris shootings.

Since the late 1960s, Neil Young has had an impressive musical career, releasing 36 studio albums and being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist.. His most recent one, The Monsanto Years, is a concept album that criticizes the agriculture business Monsanto. Find a great album review of it here. Adding on to that, Young released Bluenote Café last year. The album is collection of previously released songs along with songs never heard before that were written earlier but never released.
