RJD2’s discography is so massive it’s almost scary. How could a person produce that much music in their life? Ramble Krohn, known by his stage name RJD2, knows what he’s doing when it comes to producing electronic music and even for other artists like Yo La Tengo, Massive Attack, and Aesop Rock. He’s been a part of three different groups other than RJD2 called MHz Legacy, Soul Position, and Icebird. If you like artists like Flying Lotus, Blockhead, or even MF Doom you’ll love RJD2.
Old school record scratching, lots of retro sampling, modern glitch influences, and 90s hip-hop shape the artist’s sound. RJD2 is touring to promote his upcoming album titled Dame Fortune. The album was heavily influenced by the city of Philadelphia. Krohn says, Philly was a place where there were enough people who had the same musical vocabulary that I did, which made the music more than something I had just discovered on my own. Listen below for the single Peace of What off the new album. Don’t miss out on this Saturday night with one of electronic music’s most legendary artists.
