Chairlift has released a new single from their upcoming new album, Moth, which is set to release on Jan. 22 via Columbia Records. The new single, entitled “Moth to Flame,” is the fourth released by the band so far, following new songs “Romeo,” “Crying in Public,” and “Ch-Ching.”
“Moth to the Flame” showcases the band’s springy and light vocals accentuated by a highly danceable beat and extremely catchy hook. Chairlift sound both comfortable with their style and eager to try new things on the upcoming record.
Moth is the band’s first album since 2012’s Something. The album is expected to be more pop oriented, with a healthy mix of rich pop hooks and sensuous R&B inspired vocals.
Chairlift will be performing two special concerts on opposite sides of the country in support of the new release, appearing in Los Angeles’s Teragram Ballroom on Jan. 23 and in New York City’s National Sawdust on Jan. 26. They have also added new shows in Boston, MA on Jan. 20 and Hamden, CT on Jan. 21.
