Super Furry Animals were dormant like a bear who stayed way too long into hibernation. The group decided to announce tour dates for Winter and Spring of this year and will play music ranging from the 1995 debut album to their 2009 album. But hopefully there is a chance to create some more music and this is the first time in six years the band has ever done a tour. So this would be the band’s safety dance entrance into the music world, since they were Welsh 1990’s big hitters, and bring some old eclectic taste to the genre of indie. But the question is whether or not the magic is still inside the sound and not just the group members themselves.
The Welsh indie music group, yes Welsh, were the 2001 MOJO Magazine’s Album Of The Year with their album, Rings Around The World. other albums include the 1995 Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch (In Space), 2009 Dark Days/Light Years. The band previously released a limited edition LP version of Mwng for the band’s fifteenth anniversary. The group has been headlining festivals in the UK and Europe as well as the 4Knots Festival in New York City in July of last year. The tour dates that the band announced is for their upcoming North American tour, which includes stops at The Roxy in Los Angeles two days before Valentines Day in February of this year. The tour will be consisting of shows in February and spawn throughout the month of April and finish in May. The cities included in the tour start at Vancouver, British Columbia and end at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Guest band performance Dead Meadow will be supporting February 4 and February 11 within Super Furry Animal’s 2016 tour.
