Moderat, the German trio comprised of Gernot Bronert and Sebastian Szary (aka Modeselektor; middle & left), and Sascha Ring (aka Apparat; Right), has officially announced that on April 1st they will be releasing their long awaited new album III on the record label Mute/Monkeytown, which will promptly followed by a world tour dedicated to the new album.

Originating in Berlin, Germany in 2002 Bronsernt, Ring, and Szary came together after establishing themselves as individuals in the electronic music community to create Moderat, a collaborative project by all three that has produced seven EP’s and two (soon to be three) LP’s which have set a everlasting tone in the EDM world.

While all three producers came on to the scene in 1996 in the same location, each one of the members had a unique journey to get themselves established. Sascha Ring, otherwise known by his stage name Apparat, began his journey in the world of dance floor-oriented techno and later moved on to designing sounds rather than creating beats. After his first solo album Multifunktionsebene, he went onto meeting Bronsert and Szary, who at the time were teamed up and performing as Modeselektor. Being influenced by IDM (Intelligent Dance Music), glitch, electro-house, and hip-hop manged to help create a new and unique sound that was born from careful attention and skill.

The trio released their first EP Auf Kosten der Gesundheit, on the label BPitch Control, which contained eight unique new tracks that swept EDM fans off their feet. However, due to creative disagreements it took them seven years to come out with their first LP Moderat, also under BPitch Control, a 70 minute album with tracks featuring IDM, dubstep,  and electro-house influences.

Performing at festivals and arenas around Europe, the collaboration project gained a massive following that earned them the title “The #1 Live Act of the Year” in 2009, and later changed to “The #7 Live Act of the Year” in 2010.

In the following years after the first album, the trio released three more EP’s as Moderat before they came together again in 2013 to collaborate and release their second studio album II, under the Monkeytown label. This album, which went with a strong electronic/techno feel to it, managed to reach very high on the European album chart, and had many positive reviews from fans and critics alike.

Now according to sources, the trio have come together again in order to create something unique that contrasted their own individual project. On April 1st, 2016 the band will release their appropriately named new album IIIan LP that pairs emotional pull with sensual imagery, the album’s theme seems to feel like a gaze inward with dynamic sound and sophisticated lyrics that have depth and understanding of this thing around us called life.

The album takes the listener on a journey with the use of electronics to achieve orchestral diversity, with 25 years of sub-and-club culture experience behind them, Moderat manages to keep their songwriting fresh and innovative and consistently pushing the envelope when it comes to their genre of electronic music, it signifies their maturation into modern pop and solidifies their spot in the EDM world.

After the album is released the group intends on taking themselves on a full world tour in honor of the new LP.
