M83 Announces Spring 2016 Tour Dates

The French electronic band M83 has finally announced their new tour, and with it, a new album too. Last month, the band’s producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen announced that they had finished their new album and would be releasing it soon. Anthony Gonzalez, leader of the band, later stated that it would be different from the band’s previous albums. M83 made a breakthrough with their single “Midnight City” from their hit album Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming back in 2011. Since then, the band has composed a soundtrack for the 2013 movie Oblivion and the song “I Need You” for the popular Divergent movie soundtrack in 2014. M83 have composed many other songs for various TV and movie soundtracks as well over the past couple years. In 2014, the band decided to re-release their first three albums through Mute Records that included additional material available separately for download.

Anthony Gonzalez recently collaborated with Jean-Michel Jarre on a new song called “Glory.” The track is from Jarre’s new collaborative album, his first in eight years, and features beautiful arrangement of electronic melodies. A music video was later released for the single, and you can find a great review of it here.

The band’s upcoming album will be their first studio album since 2011, and another great album should be expected. M83 will tour this year throughout the U.S. and Canada as well as certain European countries during the last leg of their tour.
