Florence + The Machine has finally announced their tour dates, with Grimes accompanying them on many of their shows. The two very successful artists will make a perfect match for touring.
Florence + The Machine had a big year after the release of their third studio album How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful. The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 and received five nominations for the upcoming Grammys this year. The band played many European festivals this past summer and Florence Welch even broke her foot jumping off the stage at Coachella, but she insisted on continuing to tour. The band has also released several music videos from the album, each a different chapter of a short film titled “The Odyssey.” The latest video, “Delilah”, was released a couple months ago and is chapter 6 of the film.
Grimes also put out a new album back in November called Art Angels. The album received outstanding reviews and has become her highest-charting project in the U.S. In addition, Grimes recently released a previously unheard song “Fifteen Minutes To” on her Tumblr page, a song she claims has been undercover for years, possibly predating 2010. Grimes describes her own music as “ADD music”, with its frequent and dramatic shifts. Her music is a combination of various different sounds unlike anything ever heard, yet familiar in a way. She enjoys recording and experimenting with music, as well as creating the artwork for her own albums.
Of Monsters & Men will also be joining Florence + The Machine on tour for a few shows. The indie band recently released their second studio album, Beneath the Skin, in June of last year and became the band’s highest-charting album. Beneath the Skin received positive reviews and even received a Grammy nomination.
