I’m going to admit something embarrassing. I consider myself I pretty big music fan but I only recently discovered the American alternative rock band, Nada Surf. I’ve been living under a rock honestly. And I’ve been unaware of one of the most epic bands from the 90’s. I hope you’ve known Nada Surf for longer than I have. I consider you a very lucky person. Nada Surf is nostalgic, introspective, and has quality tunes. They remind me of summertime teenage years driving aimlessly around town with a car full of friends.
From listening to their hits such as Popular and Where Is My Mind? I can understand the appeal to the band. Nada Surf sounds like Nirvana mixed with modern indie rock and a hint of Green Day. Basically, what I’m saying is if you like the sounds of the mid to late 90s and the early 2000s are your forte, check out Nada Surf. What I love about this band is that in some songs lead singer Matthew Caws yells lyrics, Every boy, every boy, in the whole world could be yours! If you’ll just listen to my plan: The teenage guide to popularity! Other songs are more touching and he sings Always love. Hate will get you every time. Always love. Don’t wait til the finish line. Nada Surf can fit any mood, and that’s not what all bands can pull off successfully.
Touring their ninth album releasing later this year titled You Know Who You Are, Nada Surf will put on quite a show. With all those albums to choose from and an over 20-year band history, seeing Nada Surf live will be a sight to see. Don’t miss out on seeing this mid-late 90s and 2000s alternative rock legends perform at one the most beautiful venues in all of San Francisco.
