SweetWater Brewing Company’s 12th annual music festival in Atlanta, GA, has added more acts to 2016’s lineup this April. SweetWater 420 Fest – in addition to previously announced headliners like Kid Rock, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Bastille, Ludacris, The Disco Biscuits and Cypress Hill – has just added The Roots, AWOLNATION, Rebelution, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Atmosphere, Manchester Orchestra, DAWES, The Word featuring Robert Randolph, John Medeski & North Mississippi Allstars, Lucero, Pepper, Robert Delong, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Tokyo Police Club, Nahko And Medicine for the People, North Mississippi Allstars, Maceo Parker, Zoogma and The Bright Light Social Hour to their lineup.
The Atlanta Business Chronicle reported that the festival begins on Earth Day in April and will have four stages to feature 50 bands over the course of three days. It is held at Centennial Olympic Park; general admission tickets start at $89 on the festival’s website. Last year’s festival saw an attendance of nearly 75,000 people with 50 bands, and 2016’s edition looks to be reaching for even loftier goals.
This week has already been huge for music festival lineups: NYC’s Governor’s Ball, California’s Coachella and Atlanta’s Shaky Beats have all been announced since Tuesday. Coachella specifically made headlines for announcing that both LCD Soundsystem and Guns N’Roses were reuniting to headline the show.
