Chairlift has released third track, “Crying In Public”, from their upcoming album Moth to be released January 22, 2016 via Columbia Records. Following “Ch-Ching” and “Romeo”, “Crying In Public” showcases Chairlift‘s ability to consistently produce unique sounding and subject matter tracks.

Chairlift‘s last album was Something from 2012; now, Moth will be a more pop, New York City inspired album. Listeners will experience an rich mix of catchy hooks, deep bass, lively brass and sensuous R&B vocals, all delivered by the band’s two members Caroline Polachek and Patrick Wimberly.

Polachek says, “‘Crying In Public’ was written about a kind of moment familiar to many New Yorkers, where you’re caught up in all these anxieties that seem huge, and then the smallest gesture from someone who loves you can stop you dead in your tracks, all the bullshit falls away, and you’re suddenly humbled by how overwhelmingly beautiful the world is. It’s the closest Patrick and I have ever come to writing a devotional.”
