New York City’s Governors Ball festival is celebrating its sixth year in production and is proud to announce the highly anticipated 2016 lineup. With three days of music the lineup features artists like Kanye West, The Strokes, The Killers, Beck, Robyn, Of Monsters And Men, Death Cab For Cutie, Chet Faker, Chvrches, Haim, Miike Snow, M83, and many many more.
The Governors Ball music festival was founded by a New York City based festival promotion company called Founders Entertainment. The festival is held every year on Randall’s Island in New York City. This year’s festival dates are Friday, June 3 through Sunday, June 5. Since the beginning, Governors Ball has featured a wide range of musical genres and including rock, electronic, hip-hop, indie, americana, pop, and folk. In addition to its music, the festival serves food from popular NYC restaurants and food trucks and provides traditional festival activities like Silent Disco, ping pong, photo booths, and lawn games.
The Governors Ball behind the scene crew members are proud of the economic benefits the festival has created for the city and its residents. Governors Ball generated $49 million for New York City in 2015, a 29% increase over the previous summer, creating 353 local jobs and $23 million in wages in the process.
