Donald Fagen, co-founder and frontman of the popular 70’s soft-rock band, Steely Dan was arrested Monday evening after allegedly assaulting his wife, Libby Titus in their home in Manhattan.  Tuesday morning the 67-year-old singer faced a New York court on the grounds of domestic violence.  Released without bail, Donald was arraigned in front of the court, resulting in a single charge of assault and one for harassment.

According to reports, Donald and Libby were involved in a heated verbal dispute around 5:30pm that apparently escalated into violent form when the “Do It Again” crooner allegedly pushed his 69-year-old wife into the marble-frame of a window in their Upper East Side apartment.

Complaint reports indicate Libby was hurt and bruised due to Fagen’s alleged action of placing his hands on her arms while swiftly extending his arms along the base of the window-fame.  These actions are said to have been the cause of Fagen’s wife’s pain and swelling in her right arm.

Identified as a prolific producer/folk-singer in her own right, Libby Titus released a statement to the associated press, in light of the issue at hand:

“I don’t feel good.  I’m very tired and I’m divorcing my husband.”

Donald originally met Libby while in attendance at Bard College.  The couple met in the mid-sixties, but Libby withdrew from school before finishing after marrying novelist, Barry Titus.  She and Fagen reunited in the late-Eighties, where they would soon wed in 1993.
