A lot of musicians are coming together to support Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders with a two-night benefit concert. Pitchfork reports that “Brooklyn is Berning!” will take place at Baby’s All Right tomorrow and Wednesday, January 5 and 6.
Cass McCombs, Frankie Cosmos, Gang Gang Dance, Mas Ya, Okkervil River’s Will Sheff, Lower Dens’ Jana Hunter, Kevin Devine, Spirit Family Reunion, Dum Dum Girls’ Dee Dee, and Wet are just a few of the performers listed. More information can be found on Sanders’ website.
“Brooklyn is Berning!” isn’t all about the music, the benefit is set to feature talks by local authors and academics, along with special guests. It is still unclear if Sanders will make an appearance.
Sanders has gotten support from other artist throughout the year including: Lil B, Neil Young, Wayne Kramer, Jeff Tweedy, Thurston Moore, and Lou Barlow, only to name a few. These artists have voiced their support for Sanders with Killer Mike being one of his biggest supporter’s. Killer Mike released a two-part interview with the senator last month.
