Baths @ The Independent 3/5

Some individuals are born in this world with one main purpose: to make music. Will Wiesenfeld, known by his stage name Baths, is one of the talented few with this life purpose of creating music. The pseudonym Baths comes from his childhood memories of experiencing music while in his bathtub. His passion for music has been clear since a young age. At age four, Baths begged his parents to let him take piano lessons to compete with his older brother. By age fourteen, Baths was creating his own music with a MIDI keyboard and Digital Performer, a music software.

In 2010, at age 21, Baths released his debut album Cerulean which received praise from The A.V. Club and Pitchfork Media. Baths genre is very distinct, incorporating electronic, glitch, ambient, and chillwave into a glorious sound. Baths’ lyrics are haunting. In a falsetto voice, he sings, “All the classic music in the world couldn’t bleed as deeply as a broken hearted teenager.” Now Baths has three studio albums in total and two EPs. Baths has a pretty sizable discography for only being 26 years old.

From my understanding, Baths is touring just for the sake of touring. Get ready for a chillout night with a beer in hand at one of San Francisco’s greatest venues, The Independent. Grab a friend and go witness Baths perform. Tickets are selling fast so act now!
