Ryan Adams joined his friend of many years, Jessie Malin onstage at Bowery Ballroom in New York City. The two joined rock forces for an onstage collaboration during Malin and Catherine Popper’s set.
According to Stereogum , both musicians go way back to days when each were dedicated to earlier passion projects. Stereogum says the two formed friendship in the 90s with Adams leading Whiskeytown, and Malin playing in D Generation. So it was no surprise that these two should come together in NYC for a momentary reunion of sorts.
There are videos for four of the songs that Adams joined Milan and Popper for. They were “The Fine Art of Self-Destruction”, “Downliner”, “High Lonesome”, and “Wendy”. You can see all four videos of the performance below:
Adams has had much success in his life. A music career that has spanned many years including his part in The Cardinals. Adams was also married to Mandy Moore, and has produced albums for the likes of Willie Nelson and Fall Out Boy.
