LISTEN: Sum 41 Shares New Clips From The Studio

Sum 41 have shared two sneak peek recordings from their studio session in preparation for their upcoming album. The album will be the first since their 2011 record Screaming Bloody Murder.

Back in May 2014, frontman, Deryck Whibley, spent a month recovering in the hospital after he collapsed in his home from a near-death experience after a night of heavy drinking. The singer’s liver and kidneys had “collapsed” on him. Doctors told Whibley that another drunken episode could kill the frontman.

The tragic incident led Whibley and Sum 41‘s guitarist Dave Baksh, who left the band in 2006, to a reunion. Baksh surprised fans at the 2015 Alternative Press Music Awards by performing with Sum 41. Shortly after, Baksh announced his official return to the band.

Fans will be pleased to hear that the two clips sound like the band’s old sound.

Sum 41 says, “Words can’t describe how good it feels to be back, so I’ll just let the music do that instead. It’s been a crazy few years for all of us in one way or another, but with this much needed break and a new lease on life Sum 41 is back and stronger and more excited than we have been in a long time. It’s time to make a great record!”
