The Killers have released their annual Christmas single titled “Dirt Sledding”. The track was accompanied by a music video. which happens to be the third and final part of The Killers‘ video trilogy. The trilogy is composed of 2007’s “Don’t Shoot Me Santa” and 2012’s “I Feel It In My Bones” and now, the new release “Dirt Sledding.”
Matthew Gray Gubler directed the “Dirt Sledding” music video in the desert. Rightfully so, former tour manager, Ryan Pardey, plays the Santa yet again and is trying to kill lead singer, Brandon Flowers. The band creates a catchy tune with common Christmas wishes through the chorus, “pretty girls, Christmas lights, mistletoe, holy nights/Don’t it sound like heaven on a cloud”. The video also shows several other holiday characters like the Easter bunny, a Thanksgiving turkey/pilgrim, a Halloween pumpkin, and even the tooth fairy that help Santa back onto his feet. The video comes together with the power of Christmas spirit bringing the Flowers and Pardey together to make peace.
The Killers donate a portion of each song’s proceeds to the Global Fund to Fight Aids (RED).
