WATCH: Pixx Releases New Video For “Deplore”

Pixx’s newest video for their single “Deplore” from their newest album, Fall In EP, is truly as surreal as some of Salvador Dali’s paintings when it comes to the magical and abstract combined into something truly visual and yet hallucinating. Even though the surrealist music videos of Pixx look nothing like any of Dali’s famous paintings and other works, the video is an adaptation of novelist Thomas Hardy and its more interpretative surrealism that comes when reading anything that is doused with ink on paper. The video was directed by The Marshall Darlings.

“We like to play on this idea of magical realism in the videos we make for Pixx, and she plays the part really well. We came across an artist called Andrea Kowch who does paintings of women in rural America in these quite ghostly scenes, and we thought it would fit really well for this,” said Marshall Darlings, “We didn’t try and copy her paintings, but used them as references with each shot a vignette conveying a particular emotion, almost like a moving painting.”
