Choosing Death Fest @ Union Transfer 4/16

This April – death metal and grindcore fans will be flocking to Union Transfer to see eight of the best bands in the genre. It’s all part of Choosing Death Fest, an event in celebration of the 2015 release Choosing Death: The Improbable History of Death Metal and Grindcore. The book was written by Decibel Magazine’s editor-in-chief Albert Mudrian. The book is the updated and expanded version, of which only 3,000 hardcover, hand-numbered copies have been released worldwide.

And come April, Union Transfer will present Dying Fetus, Nails, Misery Index, Deceased, Noisem, Horrendous, Magrudergrind, and Taphos Nomos. You might also want to head to UT the night before (4/15) for the final night of the The Decibel Tour, which will feature Abbath, High on Fire, Skeletonwitch, and Tribulation. All of the acts featured during the Choosing Death Fest have long been hailed by the magazine as the best of the best. With Horrendous’s album Anareta being named number 1 of 2015.

Feeling a bit nostalgic? Decibel has you covered as most of the bands will be performing at least one “old-school death metal cover.” We can also look forward to more announcements regarding fest-related events as well as announcements about special guests to be announced at a later date.
