Just a few days ago, Matthew Caws, frontman for Nada Surf, was here in Philly performing at The TLA as part of Kevin Devine’s Devinyl Splits series. The Philly show also featured Meredith Graves (Perfect Pussy), Tigers Jaw, Cymbals Eat Guitars, and Jesse Lacey (Brand New). For fans of Nada Surf though, the show may not have featured enough Matthew Caws. But fear not, because the band has since announced an upcoming tour in support of their new album.
The new album, You Know Who You Are, is set to be released on March 4th, 2016. And we’ll have to wait until June to finally see them here in Philly. They’ll be playing World Cafe Live on June 2nd. The upcoming release is their first as a four-piece, playing with Doug Gillard.
You Know Who You Are marks the band’s first release since 2012’s The Stars Are Indifferent to Astronomy. Nada Surf have been making music together since the early 90s. And the new release is possibly “the most representative collection of the group’s two-decade career.” Take a listen to the first single, “Believe You’re Mine” over here.
