UPDATE: With the official start of the festival season one month away, the massive Ultra Music Festival announced added headliners to one of the largest Phase One lineups in the electronic music festival’s history: Crystal Castles, Dash Berlin, Deadmau5, Richie Hawtin, and Steve Angello. For the first time in Ultra Music and A State of Trance (ASOT) history, progressive house performer Deadmau5 and Swedish DJ Eric Prydz will share the ASOT stage before the acclaimed trance producer closes on the gargantuan Megastructure. General admission tickets for the world’s most successful independent electronic event sold out months in advance, with only a few VIP tickets remaining.
Are you ready? The highly anticipated Ultra Music Festival’s the stellar lineup for Phase One has been released, featuring Afrojack, Armin Van Buuren, Avicii, Carl Cox, David Guetta, Dubfire, Eric Prydz, Hardwell, Jamie Jones, Kaskade, Knife Party, Kygo, Loco Dice, Maceo Plex, Marco Carola, Martin Garrix, Seth Troxler, DJ Snake, Tiësto and Zedd as live headliners. Ultra Worldwide, the global brand of the World’s Premier Electronic Music event, elaborates:
In another incredible move from the American festival juggernaut, whose unique lineups have always been praised for their diversity, innovation and forward-thinking LIVE programming, Ultra Music Festival 2016 will see the return of three of the most revered LIVE acts in the history of electronic music.
The outdoor electronic music fest is renowned for highlighting an incredible variety of the most celebrated DJs. Award-winning English electronic music group The Prodigy, dubbed “The Godfathers of Rave”, will revisit the stage with “their industrial brand of rock-tinged electronica” after the release of their new album.
The Ultra Music Festival will also feature the reuniting of electronic group Rabbit in the Moon, which will perform in its first live show since 2010, and the return of legendary Australian/British drum and bass group Pendulum.
The past several years have been momentous for the Ultra Music Festival as its 43 year-old co-founder Alex Omes was found dead in January 2015. Additionally, in 2014, the festival invoked minimum age of attendance for the first time in fifteen years and multiple negative incidents sparked controversy and an attempt to ban the festival from the city.
The annual Miami-based festival, which unleashes during Miami Music Week, will take place on March 18, 19, and 20, 2016 as the largest EDM festival in the country.
