Veteran hard rockers Motorhead have released a new video for the track “When The Sky Comes Looking For You”. The song was included on their newest LP Bad Magic, released in August.
As per usual, Motorhead champions the lifestyle of smoky bars, booze and gambling with the video. The setting features a bar that is the farthest thing from “upscale”, complete with denim and leather clad patrons, guzzling all the liquor they can handle. A card game between several patrons takes a deathly twist, and the band’s ethos remains loud and clear.
The simple visuals of course pair perfectly with the onslaught of loud guitars, and bone rattling drums. Lemmy’s unique, grizzled, “seen it all” voice sets the tone for a great slice of classic hard rock.
The band has been experiencing some difficult times recently, with the death of original drummer Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor, who passed away in November. Taylor contributed the drumming on the band’s landmark albums in the late 70’s and early 80’s, Ace of Spades, Overkill and Bomber.
Additionally, seventy-year-old frontman Lemmy has been dealing with health issues, some of which have resulted in canceled shows.
Despite this, the band continues onward, and refuses to call it quits. If the new video is any indication, fans can only assume that Lemmy will want the now legendary band to go down swinging, continuing to release new material.
