This February, be sure to catch Kaleo at Philly’s newest hot spot, The Foundry. The four-piece Icelandic band have been best friends since grade school, but they got their start in 2012 when they began playing various shows around Iceland. It was their track “All The Pretty Girls” that brought them mainstream success, both at home and here in the US.
They made their SXSW debut this past March, gaining a spot on Esquire‘s “40 Bands You Need to Hear” list. Their upcoming tour is a special event, as it marks the band’s first headlining tour of the US. Their “Way We Go Down Tour” will kick off in Nashville, TN before making its way up north. And this February, Sirius XM presents Kaleo with firekid here in Philly. Join both acts on February 23rd when they take over the perfectly intimate Foundry stage.
While Kaleo are Iceland-bred rockers who blends folk, blues, and country, firekid (aka Dillon Hodges) hails a little bit closer to home. The Nashville-based Alabama-born singer/guitarist was the second younger person to ever win the National Flat Pick Guitar Championship, at age 17. Get to the Foundry early to catch his opening set.
