Purity Ring has released a video of their track, “heartsigh,” from their new album Another Eternity.
A video for Purity Rings Another Eternity track, “heartsigh,” has just been released by the band. The video was directed by Cecil Frena and Alex Fischer and conceptualized by the band.
As reported by Pitchfork, James had this to say about the video in a press release:
“It was an honest collaboration that combined the ideas of the band with the talents of the directors, dancers and crew. The video consists of the many elements we have created and chosen to express in a live context, but has an added sightline of being in another world, keeping the past in arms with the present and holding a bit of magic in the dark.”
The video can be seen below.
The video shows the band immersed in a forest of electronic wires with light bulbs stemming out while performing in this otherwise room of black. With Megan James singing into a globe shaped microphone and Corin Drumming onto what seems like crystal drum heads surrounding other instrumental equipment, The video gives the track its much needed feel of being out of another time. With Dancers dressed in all white suites and strobe lights this futuristically entrancing video also includes “Submergence,” an art piece by British collective Squidshop that is made out of 2,500 LED lights.
