Thee Oh Sees will release a new 7″ on February 12 via John Dwyer’s label Castle Face. The A-side includes the single “Fortress”, that was recorded in the same sessions as this years Mutilator Defeated at Last.
The song is loud and lively. It has maybe one or two verses of vocals but focuses mainly on the physical sound.
The band also has a new album in the works due for release in the spring. The band has also announced a pair of concerts at the Teragram Ballroom in L.A. on December 16-17 with Fuzz, Wand, and Permanent Records DJ’s opening. Proceeds from the show will benefit L.A. Kitchen, which helps the homeless community. Dwyer released a statement about the event:
We used to do these kinds of events in San Francisco every year, homelessness is really pretty extreme there. But here in Los Angeles, it seems more dire still. This is the first city where I’ve seen homeless children on the street. It’s pretty rough out there and every day the divide seems to grow between money and people without. So, any way we can help out seems like a good thing and everybody involved in the event just sort pulled it all together.
